The 3rd, the first weekend and Saturday of the new year, will remain bitterly cold in the morning.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, morning lows will range from -14 to -1 degrees and daytime highs from 0 to 8 degrees. It will be colder than average in the morning (lows -12 to 0 degrees, highs 1 to 9 degrees), but temperatures will rise from the afternoon and return to near normal.

Skies will be mostly clear nationwide, becoming gradually cloudy from the afternoon. In some areas, snow or rain that began the previous night is expected to continue into the morning. Expected snowfall: ▲Gwangju, western South Jeolla 1–3 cm ▲southern West Sea coast of North Jeolla, southern inland, and coastal Jeju around 1 cm ▲Ulleungdo and Dokdo 1–5 cm ▲Jeju's mountain areas 2–7 cm.
Air will be very dry mainly in eastern areas. In Seoul, parts of inland Gyeonggi, the East Sea coast and mountains of Gangwon, eastern South Jeolla, and the Gyeongsang region, strong winds with dry conditions will raise the risk of wildfires and other blazes, requiring caution.
Fine dust levels in the Seoul metropolitan area and the Chungcheong region are expected to be "good" in the morning and "temporarily bad" in the afternoon. Other regions will be in the "good" to "moderate" range. Waves will run 0.5–3.0 meters off the East and West seas and 0.5–2.0 meters off the South Sea. Wave heights in the inner offshore waters (the open sea within about 200 km of the coast) are forecast at 1.0–3.5 meters for the East, West, and South seas.
