Actor Nana, formerly of the group After School, who was harmed when a robber broke into her home, has been countersued by the man who carried out the robbery.
According to Nana's agency Sublime on the 2nd, a man in his 30s, identified as A, who was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery causing injury for breaking into Nana's home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, last November with a weapon, inflicting injuries, and demanding money, recently filed a countersuit with police accusing Nana of attempted murder and aggravated assault.
At the time, when A saw Nana's mother inside the house, the person inflicted injuries, and after hearing the mother's scream, Nana woke up and, together with her mother, struggled with A, subdued the person, and called police.
In the process, A was found to have suffered a laceration to the jaw area from the weapon, but police did not book Nana and her mother, determining that the injuries they inflicted on A constituted justifiable self-defense.
A, who is currently on trial, is reported to have retracted the initial admission of the crime made early in the investigation.
Initially, Nana's side was reported to have considered leniency in light of A's young age.
Sublime said, "During the crime by the perpetrator armed with a weapon, Nana and her family suffered severe harm to mind and body," and added, "Nevertheless, the perpetrator, without any remorse, has filed a separate complaint against Nana and is causing secondary harm through inhumane conduct by exploiting the fact that the victim is a public figure."
The agency added, "In connection with this matter, we plan to pursue all possible civil and criminal legal measures against the perpetrator."
