While two female high school students were arguing, one wielded a weapon, prompting police to launch an investigation.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said on the 30th that it arrested a teenage girl, identified as A, on suspicion of aggravated assault with a weapon and another teenage girl, identified as B, on suspicion of assault, and is currently investigating.
At about 7:48 p.m. on the 28th in the Nonhyeon-dong area of Gangnam District, the two fought, saying they would "decide the hierarchy," when A allegedly pulled out a weapon she had and attacked the other's neck.
Police urgently arrested A nearby shortly after the crime, after she discarded the weapon and fled. B was said to be not in life-threatening condition.
The two students are said to have met through social media (SNS) and to have fought in the past as well.
Police plan to investigate them to determine the exact sequence of events.
