Police have launched an investigation into the case in which Asiana Airlines said personal information of about 10,000 employees was leaked.
According to police on the 29th, the Korean National Police Agency National Office of Investigation (NOI) cyber terror investigation unit has begun a preliminary inquiry before formal booking into Asiana Airlines.
On the 25th, Asiana Airlines said in an internal notice that the company intranet was hacked through unauthorized access to an overseas server.
According to the notice, the leaked information includes intranet account and encrypted passwords, employee numbers, departments, job titles, names, phone numbers, and email addresses of more than 10,000 employees and partner company staff such as call center workers.
However, Asiana Airlines' position is that customer information was not leaked.
