With 18 first-prize winners in the final lottery drawing of the year, a lottery retailer in Gwangju Metropolitan City drew attention after producing 10 second-prize wins at once.
According to lottery operator Donghaeng Lottery on the 27th, the winning numbers for the 1,204th drawing were 8, 16, 28, 30, 31, and 44. The bonus number was 27.
There were 18 first-prize winners who matched all six numbers, each receiving about 1.661 billion won. There were 95 second-prize winners who matched five numbers plus the bonus number, and each receives 52.45 million won. There were 3,561 third-prize winners who matched five numbers, with 1.48 million won per person.
First-prize winning retailers included Haengun Lotto Lottery Room in Seongbuk District, Seoul; Cheonhamyeongdang First-Class Lottery in Bangi Food Alley, Songpa District; Kiosk No. 100 in Jung District; Rotary Club in Michuhol District, Incheon; Daebak Lottery Room in Bupyeong District; an underground kiosk in Inhyeon-dong, Jung District; Lotto Convenience Store in Gimpo, Gyeonggi; Choice Lottery Retailer in Anseong; and Cheonjiin in Hanbit Complex 3, Paju. In addition, first prizes were won at three locations in North Chungcheong, three in South Chungcheong, two in South Gyeongsang, and one in South Jeolla.
Among the 18 first-prize winners, 14 chose automatic selection, three chose manual, and one used semi-automatic.
In particular, at a lottery retailer located in a commercial building in Gwangsan District, Gwangju, 10 second-prize wins were recorded at once in this drawing. It was not confirmed whether the 10 wins were by the same person or by different people. Industry watchers noted it is possible the same person manually bought multiple tickets with the same numbers.
Lottery prize claims must be made within one year from the start date of payment. If the last day falls on a holiday, claims can be made on the next business day. After the claim period expires, the prize money is returned to the lottery fund and used for public utilities.
