Rain is expected in most regions nationwide on the 24th, Christmas Eve. The rain will generally continue until early morning, through the morning in eastern Gyeongsang, and through the afternoon on Jeju Island. There will be spots of raindrops along the East Coast and in Busan and Ulsan between the morning and night.
There will also be places with snow until early morning in the Seoul metropolitan area, North Chungcheong, and the inland and mountain areas of Gangwon. Expected precipitation is 5–20 mm for Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, the Jeolla region, the Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island; 5–10 mm for Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, the inland and mountain areas of Gangwon, and North Chungcheong; and less than 5 mm on the East Coast of Gangwon. Expected snowfall is 2–7 cm in the central and northern inland and mountain areas of Gangwon, 1–5 cm in the northern inland areas of Gyeonggi, and 1–3 cm in the southern mountain areas of Gangwon (elevation 1,000 m or higher).
Temperatures will be similar to or slightly above average. Morning lows are forecast at -2–10 C, and daytime highs at 4–13 C. In the central inland and northern inland areas of North Gyeongsang, there will be places with fog reducing visibility to less than 1 km through the morning, and black ice may form on roads in colder areas, so caution is advised for traffic safety.
Fine dust concentrations nationwide will be at "good" to "moderate" levels. In the South Sea and the waters around Jeju Island, there will be places with gusty winds and thunder and lightning. Waves will run 0.5–3.5 m off the East Coast, 0.5–2.5 m off the West Coast, and 0.5–2.0 m off the South Coast, with wave heights in the outer inner seas expected to be 1.0–3.5 m in the East and West, and 1.0–2.5 m in the South.
