In Daegu, a man fired a gas gun at his own head and was taken to a hospital.
According to police and others on the 22nd, at about 8:54 a.m. that day, a man in his 40s, identified as A, fired a self-defense gas gun at his head in a hallway on the 10th floor of a building in Samdeok-dong, Jung District, Daegu. A was transported to a hospital and is being treated; the injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
An employee of an office in the building, he parked in the basement garage at about 7:50 a.m. the same day and moved to the ninth floor. He then stayed in the emergency stairwell, went up to the 10th floor, and is said to have aimed the gun at himself.
The self-defense gas gun A used was confirmed to be privately owned with legal permission. The exact circumstances and motive of the incident is under investigation.
