A total of six complaints and accusations related to comedian Park Na-rae, 40, who is embroiled in allegations of power abuse and illegal medical procedures, have been filed with police.
Park Jeong-bo, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency commissioner, said at a regular press briefing on the 15th, "There are five cases in which Park Na-rae has been accused, and one case filed by Park's side," adding, "We will conduct a strict investigation."
Park Na-rae's former managers filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station on the 5th, accusing Park of aggravated assault, defamation by alleging false facts, and violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
Park Na-rae also filed a countersuit against the former managers on attempted extortion charges. The Yongsan Police Station is currently investigating the case. Police plan to question the complainants and accusers soon.
Police are also currently investigating allegations that Park Na-rae received illegal medical procedures from a person referred to as "injection aunt," identified as A, at her home and in her car. The commissioner said, "This has just been filed," adding, "We will investigate according to procedure going forward."
Park Na-rae's side denies both the power abuse allegations and the illegal medical procedure allegations. However, she has stepped down from entertainment programs she was appearing on, including MBC "I Live Alone" and tvN "Amazing Saturday."
