In Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, a man in his 40s was caught by police after telling a middle school student walking down the street, "Let's live together."
According to police on the 15th, the Ilsan Seobu Police Station requested an arrest warrant that day for a man in his 40s, identified as A, on suspicion of attempted abduction and enticement of a minor.
At about 10:40 a.m. on the previous day, A is accused of attempting but failing to entice a middle school student, identified as B, by grabbing B on the street in front of a jjimjilbang in Ilsan 2-dong, Ilsan Seogu, and saying, "Live with me."
B shook off A, hid in a restroom in a nearby building, and called police. After searching the area, police found A in the jjimjilbang and made an emergency arrest.
A was heavily intoxicated at the time and reportedly said during police questioning, "I don't remember."
Police said, "We view abduction and enticement cases involving minors as serious. There are additional aspects to investigate, including motive, so we requested an arrest warrant."
