A will was found in an apartment in Yongin, Gyeonggi, where a man in his 40s and his 9-year-old son were found dead.
On Feb. 12, Yongin Dongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi said a two-line handwritten memo, believed to have been written by the deceased in his 40s, identified as A, who is suspected of killing a child, was found at A's home.
Earlier, on the afternoon of Feb. 11, A died after jumping from the 20th floor of an apartment in Giheung-gu, Yongin. In the back seat of A's car parked at the apartment, his 9-year-old son, identified as B, was found dead.
Based on a forensic doctor's opinion that B likely died of "asphyxiation due to neck compression," police believe A strangled the child to death and then jumped.
Police said, "An autopsy is planned because the cause of death needs to be clarified," and added, "If the final investigation finds that A committed the act, the case will be closed as 'no right of arraignment' due to the suspect's death."
