The 2026 police "fit body calendar" was released on social media (SNS).
Police officer Choi Ha-yong (30), born in 1995 and a member of the Seoul 12th Mobile Unit, posted on Facebook on the 9th, saying, "After becoming a police officer, my first goal was to become a member of the police calendar," and released a photo.
Choi, a police officer, is one of 48 officers selected as models for the 2026 police calendar after winning an award at the "3rd Mr. Police Korea Festival" held in July.
Choi said, "When I was a test taker, I saw the police calendar organized by Inspector Park Seong-yong every year through online articles and on SNS," adding, "I endured my exam preparation with the desire to become a member of the police calendar."
Choi said, "I have worked out alone for 10 years, but I had never done it for someone else," adding, "This time, thinking that I was exercising for child victims made my heart burn hotter."
Choi added, "It wasn't an easy process because I often responded to calls at dawn and got off work late at night, but to reach my goal I woke up at 4 a.m. for fasted cardio, and after work I combined weights and cardio."
The police fit body calendar was planned to raise awareness of the seriousness of child abuse crimes and to help children who are victims of abuse. Active-duty police officers serve as calendar models, and all sales revenue is donated.
It has been published every year since it was created in 2018 by Inspector Park Seong-yong (46) of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency. Cumulative donations total 120 million won, and this year as well, all sales revenue is to be delivered to the Community Chest of Korea.
Choi said, "There is nothing better than being able to give someone courage and joy through a workout I love," adding, "I hope the revenue from calendar sales will be a small light for children who are victims of abuse."
