Vietnamese man in his 40s arrested in Gumi for killing girlfriend

A Vietnamese man in his 40s was taken into police custody on suspicion of killing his girlfriend.

The Gumi Police Station in North Gyeongsang Province said on the 10th that it urgently arrested a Vietnamese man in his 40s, identified as A, on suspicion of killing his girlfriend with a weapon.

A is accused of fatally stabbing a woman in her 40s, identified as B, with whom he was in a relationship, at about 6:20 p.m. on the previous day at his studio apartment in Gupyeong-dong, Gumi.

B is said to be from Vietnam and to have acquired Korean nationality. Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the case, including the motive, focusing on A.
