A woman in her 70s was found dead at home, and police arrested her two children and are currently investigating.
The Guro Police Station in Seoul said it urgently arrested a man in his 40s, identified as A, and a woman, identified as B, the children of the deceased woman, on the afternoon of the 10th on suspicion of injury resulting in death of a lineal ascendant.
Fire authorities received a report at around 12:30 p.m. that "mother is not breathing" and were dispatched. They then found bruises on the woman's face and arms and asked police for cooperation.
Based on a medical examiner's assessment, police determined there were signs of assault and arrested the two children in their 40s for questioning. A and B reportedly admitted to part of the crime.
Police plan to investigate the specific circumstances of the incident.
