An elementary school student riding a kickboard was hit and killed by a right-turning vehicle while crossing a crosswalk.
According to the Anyang Dongan Police Station on the 9th, on the afternoon of the 8th at a crosswalk at a three-way intersection in Pyeongchon-dong, Dongan District, Anyang, elementary school student A, who was crossing the crosswalk on a kickboard, was struck by a private academy shuttle bus.
Driver B of the shuttle bus reportedly made a right turn without noticing A. A was seriously injured and taken to a hospital but died. B was found not to have been under the influence of alcohol.
Police said, "We are looking into the circumstances of the crash, including whether B ran a light," and "for now, we have booked B on suspicion of death by dangerous driving under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents and are investigating."
