A man in his 30s who fled to evade a DUI checkpoint and caused a crash has been booked.
Chungbuk Chungju Police Station said on Dec. 8 that it booked a man in his 30s, identified as A, without detention on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act after he fled to evade a DUI checkpoint and caused a crash.
At about 10 p.m. on the 7th, A fled to evade a DUI checkpoint on a road in Seongnam-dong, Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, and caused a crash at Dongchon Intersection by ramming into three passenger cars that were waiting at a signal.
Three people, including A, were injured in the crash and taken to a hospital.
Police believe A drove under the influence and drew blood for testing. The blood alcohol concentration has not yet come out.
Police said they will investigate the exact circumstances of the crash after confirming whether A drove under the influence.
