Hanyang University Graduate School of Media and Communication (Dean Han Dong-seop) and the Graduate School Alumni Association (Chair Lee Young-man) said on Dec. 8 that they selected Kim Gi-jeong, head of the Korea Internet Newspaper Association, and Kim Ho-sang, CEO of KT ENA, as the winners of the "2025 Proud Hanyang Journalist Award."
At the same time, the merit award will be given to Park Jeong-chan, former president of Yonhap News Agency and Yonhap News TV, and to Geum Gyo-don, former head of Chosun Education Culture Media, in recognition of their contributions to the development of the graduate school alumni association.
The "Proud Hanyang Journalist Award" is given annually to alumni selected from among graduates of the Graduate School of Media and Communication who have achieved outstanding accomplishments and influence in their fields and enhanced the school's reputation.
This year's winner, association head Kim Gi-jeong, worked as a reporter at The Kukmin Daily before serving as CEO of Cookie News and chaired the Korea Online Newspaper Association. Kim is currently the CEO of Environment TV and Green Post Economy, leading various innovations in the digital media environment.
CEO Kim Ho-sang worked for about 30 years at KBS as a variety show producer, directing numerous hit programs such as "Vitamin," "Gag Concert," and "Korea Again Na Hoon-a." After serving as head of the KBS Ulsan Station, Kim is now CEO of KT ENA, leading the expansion of the OTT and content industries.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Dec. 9 at Heritage Hall on the 6th floor of the Hanyang University Alumni Center on Majoro in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Meanwhile, since its opening in 1983, the Hanyang University Graduate School of Media and Communication has produced more than 1,300 graduates active in key fields in Korea, including media, culture, politics, and the economy, establishing itself as a top-level specialized graduate school.
