A fire that broke out at a textile factory in Chilgok, North Gyeongsang, was put out after 10 hours. There were no casualties, but a nearby factory caught fire and was damaged.
According to fire authorities on the 7th, the fire that started around 12:35 p.m. on the 6th at a textile factory in Waegwan-eup, Chilgok, North Gyeongsang, was extinguished around 10:35 p.m., 10 hours later.
Six employees were working at the factory when the fire broke out, but all evacuated on their own and there were no casualties.
However, as the flames spread, four buildings at the ignition site, two buildings at an adjacent factory, and part of one building at another adjacent factory burned, officials said.
In the early stages, as black smoke billowed, Chilgok County also sent an emergency text message reading, "Vehicles nearby should detour and residents should take care to stay safe."
Police and fire authorities said they plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
