On Wednesday the 3rd, daytime temperatures in most parts of the country will hover around 0 degrees, requiring caution against the cold wave.
The Korea meteorological Administration said the morning low in Seoul on the 3rd will be minus 8 degrees. With strong northwesterly winds, the wind chill is expected to drop to minus 12 degrees. The daytime high will also stay at minus 3 degrees.
In particular, it warned of places with heavy and intense snowfall, mainly in the coastal areas of South Chungcheong and North Jeolla along the West Sea and the mountainous areas of Jeju Island.
Expected snowfall is 3–8 centimeters, with more than 10 centimeters piling up in places. There is a possibility that a heavy snow advisory will be issued.
Rain or snow that began late at night on the 2nd in the northern inland of the South Chungcheong region and along the South Chungcheong West Coast will expand from the early morning of the 3rd to the North Jeolla and South Jeolla West Coast and continue into the night.
Expected precipitation is around 5 millimeters for the South Chungcheong West Coast, the North Jeolla West Coast, Gwangju and the South Jeolla West Coast and central inland of South Jeolla, and around 1 millimeter for other areas.
Morning temperatures will also drop sharply by about 5–10 degrees from the previous day, with most areas nationwide around minus 5 degrees, and daytime temperatures in most areas nationwide around 0 degrees.
