A man in his 40s who got behind the wheel while heavily intoxicated and plunged his car into the sea was caught by police.
On the 2nd, Jindo Police Station in South Jeolla Province said it booked a man in his 40s, identified only as A, on suspicion of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act and is investigating.
A was driving with a blood alcohol concentration at a license-revocation level when the car fell into the sea. It was found that A opened a window and escaped on their own.
Responding to a citizen report, police canvassed the area and apprehended A at a workers-only dormitory about two hours after the crash.
A police official said, "At the time of the crash, A appeared to be the only person in the vehicle," adding, "We are determining the exact circumstances of the accident."
