A complaint has been filed with police by a woman who says she was sexually harassed by lawmaker Jang Kyung-tae of the Democratic Party of Korea.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Unit said on the 27th that it has launched an investigation after receiving a complaint accusing Jang of sexual harassment.
The complainant is said to claim that Jang harassed her at an evening gathering late last year. The complaint was filed on the 25th with the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul, and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency took over the case the previous day.
Jang Kyung-tae wrote on social media on the day, "I will respond strongly, including with legal action, to falsehoods, false accusations, and related smears that are not true at all."
