The mother of actor Kim Sae-ron, who died in February this year, again claimed that "Kim Soo-hyun did date the deceased when she was a minor."
On the 26th, in a statement sent through Law Firm Buyou, the deceased's mother said, "Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun when she was a minor," and "We will reveal part of the materials we have today."
The evidence released that day included two recorded statements from an acquaintance of the deceased, one memo, KakaoTalk messages, photos, and letters written by the deceased.
It had been about eight months since the deceased's mother last issued a statement, after having it read in an artificial intelligence (AI) voice on a YouTube channel on the 3rd.
In response, attorney Ko Sang-rok of Law Firm Phil, legal representative for Kim Soo-hyun, said, "These are materials we already saw after they were submitted to the investigative agency," and argued, "They are unrelated to Kim Soo-hyun or were written by the deceased alone." He added, "They have no evidentiary value, and if you look at the details, the forensic (digital evidence extraction) information is also different," and said, "The police investigation results will be out soon."
Earlier, in May, the deceased's bereaved family filed a complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency accusing Kim Soo-hyun of violating the Child Welfare Act, among other charges.
