The memorial altar for the late Lee Soon-jae, the "ever-active actor," was set up at the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center on the 25th. Mourners will be received from 2 p.m. that day.
The funeral procession is at 6:20 a.m. on the 27th. After cremation at Seoul Memorial Park at 8:30 a.m. the same day, the remains will be taken to Eden Nakwon in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, for burial.
However, the memorial altar will not be open to the general public. Instead, a separate incense-burning altar will be set up at the KBS annex so people can pay their respects. The altar is expected to be accessible from around 5 p.m. that day. Condolence money will not be accepted.
Born in 1934, Lee Soon-jae devoted 70 years to acting, beginning with the play "Beyond the Horizon" in 1956. Until he paused activities in Oct. due to health issues, he had appeared in the play "Waiting for Godot While Waiting" and the KBS 2TV drama "Dog Sound."
