The Ministry of Government Legislation will build a system to digitize and manage Nepal's legal information.

The Ministry of Government Legislation said on the 24th that it signed an agreement on the 17th with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for an official development assistance (ODA) project to build a pilot system for Nepal's legal information.

The goal is to digitize Nepal's legal information and build a pilot system to manage it by Sept. 2027 so that Nepalese citizens can use it. The Ministry of Justice will visit Nepal next month to hold a kickoff briefing.

The project will be carried out by a consortium formed by the Ministry of Government Legislation and the Korea Law Information Center. The model is the National Law Information Center of the Ministry of Government Legislation. The ministry plans to build a system optimized for the local environment based on its expertise and experience in managing and providing legal information.

Minister of Government Legislation Cho Won-cheol said, "We expect that the successful launch of the pilot system will allow Nepalese citizens to access their country's legal information more easily and conveniently," adding, "We hope Korea and Nepal will strengthen their partnership and go on to have more diverse opportunities for exchange and cooperation."
