About a month before Christmas, a "secret Santa recruitment cipher" posted at an apartment complex is drawing attention.
According to several social media platforms and online communities on the 24th, it became known that a notice recruiting Santas for Christmas was recently posted at an apartment.
The released notice is written in the form of a "cipher" mixing Korean, Chinese characters, English, and numbers so children will not catch on.
The notice says, "On Christmas Eve from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., form teams of two and deliver gifts to five households each." The gift recipients are children born from 2018 to 2023, and the application deadline is Nov. 26.
It also says in code that those who volunteer will be automatically included as event participants and can receive a small gift.
The notice also includes the message, "We ask for your understanding as this is written so children who read it will not notice." Residents used their wit to plan a "secret Santa event" without the kids knowing.
Internet users who saw the post are responding warmly, saying, "It looks like a cipher, but the fact that it reads is even more amazing," "It's impressive how it's written so only parents can understand," "You could pretend not to notice and walk past in front of the kids," and "It's heartwarming to see adults trying to protect children's innocence."
