The National Fire Agency said on the 17th that Seo Aram, a fire lieutenant at the National Fire Research Institute, won first place, the Ministry of Personnel Management chief's award, in the research and development category at the finals of the 43rd Public HRD Contest.
The Public HRD Contest is a public sector human resources development (HRD) competition hosted by the National Human Resources Development Institute, held annually to share and spread best practices in public sector education and training and in teaching and learning methods.
At the finals, Seo presented on the theme of "improvement plans for the training course to cultivate commanders for mass-casualty disaster response." Judges highly evaluated the presentation for proposing effective training measures in the research and development area of the fire education system.
National Fire Research Institute Director Kim Yeonsang said, "Fire Lieutenant Seo Aram's award is very meaningful in that it presented practical improvement plans in the research and development field," and added, "We will continue research and development to enhance the effectiveness of fire disaster response education and cultivate talent with strengths in on-site response."
