A man in his 70s who was carrying out a wild boar control operation on a hillside in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, died after being shot by a colleague.
According to the Yeosu Police Station in South Jeolla Province on the 8th, an accidental discharge occurred at about 11:18 p.m. on the 7th on a hillside in Dundeok-dong, Yeosu.
Hunter A, in his 50s, who was culling wild boars, a harmful wild animal, shot hunter B, in his 70s, who had been working at a distance.
B, who suffered a severe abdominal injury, was taken to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest but died. A reportedly told police that A mistook B for a wild boar because it was dark.
Police booked A on charges of occupational negligence causing death and the exact circumstances is under investigation.
