Police have handed over former employees of Doosan Bobcat's subsidiary Doosan Bobcat Korea to prosecutors.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's anti-corruption investigation unit on the 6th, police sent 16 people without detention to prosecutors at the end of last month, including one former employee of Doosan Bobcat Korea and 15 employees of partner companies, on charges including taking bribes.
Doosan Bobcat detected signs of breach of duty by one former executive of Doosan Bobcat Korea and four current executives in an internal audit in July last year and issued dismissal notices. Police launched an inquiry-based investigation based on this.
Police reportedly conducted multiple search-and-seizure operations at Doosan Bobcat headquarters and other locations and identified indications of bid rigging and bribery worth around 10 billion won.
A Doosan Bobcat official said, "We proactively identified issues through an internal audit and took action," adding, "We are designing and operating strengthened internal control activities for the areas where issues were found."
