A video by Bucheon City that satirizes internet streamers (BJs) active at Bucheon Station, known as the "mecca of trashy broadcasts," is drawing attention.
On the 28th, Gyeonggi Province's Bucheon City posted a one-minute Shorts video on its official YouTube account. The main character in the video, titled "What do I do when even Bucheon YouTubers can't stop their hips," is Bucheon City Hall's character "Bucheonhee."
In the video, a male civil servant named "Bucheonhee" gets a breakup notice from a partner and dances a "hip dance" called "Is it because my hips won't stop." Then Bucheonhee says, "Since we broke up, let's go do a yabang (outdoor broadcast)," and heads to Bucheon Station.
After the broadcast starts, Bucheonhee receives donations and says, "I'll make it more provocative," and shakes his hips even faster. A passerby protests to Bucheonhee, asking, "Why are you shouting here?" Bucheonhee ignores it and answers, "Whether I broadcast here or not is up to me."
Even after that, Bucheonhee's broadcast continues, and eventually a crowd of citizens gathers and chants, "Stop the trashy broadcast," and "Don't destroy the local business district." The video ends with a scene where Bucheonhee has to choose between "stop" and "stop" for the trashy broadcast.
The area around Bucheon Station is known as the "mecca of trashy broadcasts." Unrestrained outdoor broadcasts, loud shouting, and sexualized content have led to ongoing civil complaints, causing headaches for residents. In response, starting on the 17th, Bucheon City began a campaign to oust trashy YouTubers and BJs. The city has formed a "task force for improving the image of the Bucheon Station area" and is reviewing legislative measures to sanction trashy YouTubers and the introduction of special judicial police.
