Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's Kkanbu Chicken Samsung branch, which he visited with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, decided to limit the time of use as crowds flocked there amid explosive popularity.
According to the related industry on the 4th, a notice recently went up in front of the Kkanbu Chicken Samsung branch that read, "Use of the Jensen Huang CEO table seats is limited to one hour for everyone." The branch also left the message, "We hope everyone who visits takes away good vibes."
On the 30th, before taking the stage at a Nvidia event, CEO Jensen Huang met for about 70 minutes over chimaek at "Kkanbu Chicken" in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul with Chairman Lee and Chairman Chung. The three shared chicken and beer and even did a "love shot."
After the chimaek meeting, the Kkanbu Chicken Samsung branch became a "holy site." From the next day, an opening-run line has continued at the branch. In particular, it is known that the seats where the three sat become the focus of a race to claim them as soon as business begins.
The branch does not take separate reservations for those seats. As visitors pour in, it is interpreted that the branch limited seat use to one hour to prevent lower turnover and congestion.
Some branches temporarily closed as orders and customers flooded in at once. The Seongbok branch of "Kkanbu Chicken" in Suji-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi—its first and main store—temporarily closed for the two weekend days on the 1st and 2nd.
The Seongbok branch posted a notice at the entrance stating, "Due to more orders than expected, we will be temporarily closed from Saturday the 1st to Sunday the 2nd to provide smooth service. We apologize for any inconvenience. We will return with better quality and service."
