Baek Seong-mun, an attorney and the husband of YTN anchor Kim Seon-yeong, has died after battling cancer.
According to the bereaved family on the 31st, Attorney Baek died after battling cancer at about 2:08 a.m. that day at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital. He was 52.
Attorney Baek graduated from Gyeonggi High School and the College of Law at Korea University, passed the 49th bar exam in 2007, and had worked as a lawyer since 2010.
During his lifetime, Attorney Baek made regular appearances on numerous current affairs programs such as MBN "News Fighter" and JTBC "Incident Chief," communicating with the public. He married the anchor Kim in Nov. 2019.
During Attorney Baek's illness, whenever Anchor Kim mentioned her husband on Instagram, she always added the hashtag "strong man" to cheer him on.
Attorney Baek's mortuary has been set up in Room 35 of the funeral hall at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. The funeral service is at 7 a.m. on Nov. 2, and the burial site is Yongin Park Cemetery.
