Jensen Huang, Nvidia chief executive officer (CEO), on the 30th met over "chimaek (chicken + beer)" with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun. CEO Huang said, "Korean fried chicken is the best in the world," and even introduced his go-to chicken place in Silicon Valley in the United States.
On the 30th, CEO Huang took the stage with Chairman Lee and Chairman Chung at the "GeForce Gamer Festival" held at K-POP Square at COEX in Gangnam District, Seoul.
CEO Huang said, "Korean fried chicken is the best in the world," adding, "My regular spot in Silicon Valley is '99 Chicken,' a brand like Korea's 'Gugu Chicken.' The best-tasting chicken in California is Korean chicken."
The "99 Chicken" Huang mentioned is in a cluster of Korean restaurants in Santa Clara, California. It mainly serves fried chicken and buffalo wings and was once selected as a "Silicon Valley must-visit." A whole fried chicken sells for $28.99, and a whole seasoned chicken sells for $29.99.
That day, CEO Huang said, "When I arrive in Korea, I say the first thing we should do is go eat chicken," adding, "The first meal I want to enjoy in Korea is fried chicken."
Right before joining the event, CEO Huang enjoyed chimaek at a nearby chicken restaurant with Chairman Lee and Chairman Chung. He became a hot topic online for showing expert-level deboning skills, popping the chicken into his mouth and spitting out only the bone.
