A group that tried to kidnap and kill a popular YouTuber with 1 million subscribers in an apartment basement parking lot has been arrested and detained.
On the 30th, Incheon District Court Director General Yu Aram, the judge in charge of warrants, issued arrest warrants for two men for whom police sought warrants on charges including attempted murder and joint unlawful confinement, saying there was a risk of flight.
They are accused of kidnapping a male YouTuber in his 30s, identified as A, into a vehicle in the basement parking lot of an apartment complex in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, at about 10:40 p.m. on the 26th and attempting to kill A by striking him multiple times with a blunt object.
They lured B to the parking lot of the apartment where B lives by saying they would give money, then put B in a vehicle and moved to Geumsan County, South Chungcheong Province, about 200 kilometers away, it was found.
Police tracked the vehicle after receiving A's report and arrested the two in South Chungcheong as they were caught in the act within four hours. A suffered serious injuries after being severely beaten in the face area but was not in life-threatening condition.
