A woman in her 30s who repeatedly posted malicious messages about actor Han Ji-min, 43, has been sent to trial.
According to legal sources on the 29th, the Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Ji-young) indicted a person surnamed Lee without detention on the 20th on charges of intimidation and insult.
Lee is accused of posting 19 messages on her social media (SNS) in September–October last year, including "I will sabotage the movie Han Ji-min appears in" and "Shut your mouth."
Lee was found to have tried to actively notify Han Ji-min's side by tagging Han Ji-min and Han Ji-min's acquaintance in these posts.
Lee is said to have committed these acts after Han Ji-min's relationship with Choi Jung-hoon, 33, the vocalist of the band Jannabi, was made public in Aug. last year. Han Ji-min's position is that the psychological harm suffered from Lee's acts is significant.
In response, BH Entertainment, her agency, filed a complaint with police against Lee in Nov. last year, and the Seoul Gangnam Police Station referred Lee to the prosecution in March with a recommendation to indict. After additionally questioning Han Ji-min and Lee, the prosecution sent Lee to trial.
