The victim of the attempted kidnapping and murder that occurred in an underground parking lot of an apartment in Incheon has been identified as SuTak, a popular gaming YouTuber with 1 million subscribers.
Sandbox Network said on the 29th through SuTak's YouTube channel, "We would like to share the current situation of our affiliated creator SuTak," and added, "As many of you feared, the victim in the incident is indeed SuTak."
It continued, "SuTak is currently hospitalized and awaiting surgery, and is focusing on treatment and recovery," and noted, "SuTak asked us to convey sincere apologies to fans, as this incident seems to have caused them great concern."
On the 28th, the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station said it had requested arrest warrants for two men, including a man in his 20s to 30s identified as A, on suspicion of abducting a male YouTuber in his 30s in a car and attempting to kill him by repeatedly beating him with a blunt weapon in an underground parking lot of an apartment in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. The victim's personal information was not disclosed at the time, but it was confirmed that day to be SuTak.
They called SuTak to the parking lot, saying they would return borrowed money, then put him in a vehicle and moved to Geumsan County, South Chungcheong Province, about 200 kilometers away, it was found. The YouTuber had reported to police just before meeting the group that he felt his safety was at risk. Police tracked the vehicle and arrested the group in South Chungcheong Province in the act.
SuTak suffered serious injuries after being severely beaten in the face, but his life is not in danger, according to reports. The person told police in effect that there was money to be collected from A and the group.
