Police searched and seized the National High School of Traditional Arts on the 27th.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit said that day it was executing a search and seizure warrant against the school and others in connection with alleged admissions corruption. At the National High School of Traditional Arts, there were allegations that successful applicants for the practical entrance exam were predetermined and money was taken in exchange for hiring teachers.
The Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit recently took over the case from the Geumcheon Police Station. On the 17th of last month, it booked a school official on suspicion of obstruction of the performance of official duties by fraudulent means and continued the investigation.
The National High School of Traditional Arts was established in 1960 under the name "National Music and Arts School" and was renamed to its current name in 2008. The school is in Siheung-dong, Geumcheon District, Seoul. It has three majors: dance, music and theater, and Korean music.
