Posts spreading online about the "G-Dragon Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit 2025 Gyeongju Cheomseongdae performance" have turned out to be fake.
On the 27th, the city of Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, said, "There are no plans at all for a Cheomseongdae performance by G-Dragon, and any guidance about pre-registration or application intake is entirely false," urging caution.
Recently online, a post spread claiming that G-Dragon would hold a solo performance at 7 p.m. on the 31st on a special stage in front of Cheomseongdae.
The city shared the information with towns, townships, neighborhoods, and each department, and is focusing on blocking false posts through village heads and civic groups.
Meanwhile, Gyeongju city said it canceled the large-scale commemorative fireworks show that Hanwha was set to hold during the APEC summit dinner on the 31st due to extreme congestion and security and safety reasons. Instead, after the summit ends, it plans to hold a celebratory performance with citizens.
Hanwha, participating as an official sponsor of the APEC summit, had initially planned to showcase a fireworks and drone show at the gala dinner on the 31st, mobilizing 50,000 fireworks and about 2,000 drones.
A city official said, "We ask for your attention and cooperation so as not to be deceived by various false information circulating online."
