The special counsel investigating Kim Keon-hee said on the 26th that it newly appointed two deputy special prosecutors: attorneys Kim Kyung-ho, a former presiding judge (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 22), and Park No-su (class 31).
Deputy Special Prosecutor Kim graduated from Hongik University High School and Seoul National University School of Law and was appointed a judge at the Seoul Central District Court in 1996. Kim later served at the Chuncheon District Court, as a research judge at the Supreme Court, and as a presiding judge at the Changwon District Court and the Suwon District Court.
Deputy Special Prosecutor Park graduated from Jeonju High School and Seoul National University's Department of Economics and was appointed a judge at the Seoul Central District Court in 2002. Park later served at the Seoul Western District Court, as head of the Namwon Branch of the Jeonju District Court, and at the National Court Administration.
The special counsel also said that Senior Prosecutor Han Moon-hyeok (class 36) and Deputy Senior Prosecutor Kim Hyo-jin (class 38), who had been on secondment, will return to the prosecution as of the 27th.
An official from the special counsel team said, "It has been confirmed that facts were found leading to the judgment that it would be difficult for Senior Prosecutor Han Moon-hyeok to continue the investigation," and added, "Deputy Senior Prosecutor Kim Hyo-jin requested the lifting of secondment to the prosecution as of the 23rd due to personnel reasons, and will return to the prosecution as of the 27th."
Before joining the special counsel, Senior Prosecutor Han was known to have investigated the Deutsch Motors stock manipulation case while at the prosecution. It has been reported that the special counsel recently received a tip with a photo showing that in July 2021, when Han was with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Han had drinks with five people including former Black Pearl Invest CEO Lee Jong-ho, a figure related to the case. Lee is also known as the manager of Mrs. Kim's account.
