A man in his 50s who assaulted a bus driver on a moving city bus and caused a crash has been arrested by police.
Incheon Gyeyang Police Station said on the 24th that it arrested a man in his 50s, identified as A, on suspicion of assaulting a driver under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
Choi Sang-su, Incheon District Court warrant-division Director General, held a pre-arrest warrant hearing for A the previous afternoon and issued the warrant, saying there was a risk of flight.
A is suspected of repeatedly assaulting a driver in his 20s, identified as B, on a city bus running on a road in Hyo-seong-dong, Gyeyang District, Incheon, at about 4:50 p.m. on the 21st.
A demanded to get off at a place that was not a bus stop, and when B refused, the assault took place.
The investigation found that A was intoxicated.
The bus reportedly swerved due to A's assault and hit the median strip. No injuries were reported.
