The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on the 23rd that it will open the "Namsan Sky Forest Trail" to the public starting on the 25th.
The Namsan Sky Forest Trail is a 1.45-kilometer section connecting the Namsan Fitness Center (Huam-dong, Yongsan-gu) to Namsan Library.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Sky Forest Trail offers views of the cityscape as well as the Han River and Gwanak-san. It also improved the previously steep slopes and narrow walkways so people with limited mobility and people of all ages can access it conveniently.
The city plans to install viewing points and attraction points throughout the Sky Forest Trail for public use. The signature viewing point, "Sunset Observatory," is a photo zone that uses glass fencing to create the feeling of floating in the air. The "Wind Viewing Bridge," which offers a different angle on the city with a metasequoia forest as the backdrop, has also been installed.
The "Pine Rest Area," created by the city as an attraction point, allows visitors to enjoy forest bathing. The "Health Garden" features a Starlight Horse Chestnut Forest and meditation and healing gardens.
Lee Su-yeon, director of the Garden City Bureau at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "We will continue to expand various infrastructure so we can fully return Namsan, a symbol of Seoul, to its citizens."
