Kim Ki-dong (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 21), managing partner at Law Firm Robex, said on the 20th that he and Lee Chang-woon, head of Lee & Insight and former head of the Supervisory Coordination Department at the Financial Supervisory Service, published Corporate virtual asset investment era opening for corporations: strategies for corporate investment and business use.
The two published the book to offer implications to domestic corporations through overseas corporations' investment cases in connection with the Financial Services Commission allowing corporations to participate in the virtual asset market starting in the second quarter.
In the book, they first compare and analyze corporate virtual asset investment regimes in major countries such as Korea, the United States, Japan, the UAE, and the EU, and present cases of overseas corporations including MicroStrategy, Tesla, and Starbucks. They then include ▲ internal implementation strategies ▲ practical guidelines on accounting, tax, and disclosures. They also organized content likely to interest corporations—such as domestic corporation investment and taxation and the use of overseas corporations—in a Q&A format. The appendix contains the latest case law and explanations of key terms.
Managing partner Kim Ki-dong served as a prosecutor for 25 years. He went on to head the Special Investigation Department 1 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office and serve as chief prosecutor at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office. He is handling the defense in major virtual asset cases, including Terra and Luna. Head Lee worked at the Financial Supervisory Service for 30 years, holding posts across the Capital Market Investigation Department, Disclosure Review Office, and Supervisory Coordination Department.
