A baffling incident occurred in which a man urinated in public and danced, exhibiting abnormal behavior on a Seoul Subway Line No. 1 platform.
According to an online community on Oct. 20, a citizen identified as A said that on the morning of Oct. 18, a man urinated in a trash can on a Line No. 1 platform.
The man then boarded the subway, mistook nearby citizens for police, and suddenly knelt and apologized.
The man reportedly told another citizen that he was from Los Angeles (LA) in the United States, then danced and even saluted.
In the photos taken by A, the man is seen kneeling and bowing his head in apology in front of a citizen. He was barefoot, without shoes.
Detailed location information, such as which station the man boarded at, was not disclosed.
Under current law, public urination in public places such as the subway can result in a penalty of fines of up to 100,000 won or a criminal fine under the Minor Offenses Punishment Act.
