Two workers were reported dead on Oct. 19 after a utility cart plunged off a road at a golf course in Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province.
According to fire authorities and others, at about 1 p.m. on Oct. 18, a utility cart traveling on a road inside Crystal Valley Country Club in Daebori, Sang-myeon, Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, fell about 5 meters into an underpass.
The driver of the cart and a male passenger in their 70s were transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest and were reported dead.
The accident was said to have occurred while they were riding the cart up a hill. The two were reportedly affiliated with an outside contractor for the golf course.
Meanwhile, the golf course said it will temporarily close from Oct. 19 through Oct. 21 due to the accident. Police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the crash by questioning related personnel and others.
