BAE, KIM & LEE LLC said on the 17th that it has hired former Seoul Regional Tax Service Commissioner Kim Myeong-jun as an adviser.
Adviser Kim graduated from the Department of International Economics at Seoul National University, earned a master's degree from the same school's Graduate School of Public Administration, and received a doctorate from the Graduate School of Taxation at the University of Seoul. After passing the 37th administrative examination, Kim entered public service and worked at the National Tax Service for 26 years.
Starting as head of the General Affairs Division at the Gunsan Tax Office in 1995, Kim also served as tax attaché at the Permanent Delegation to the OECD in Paris, France; director in charge of policy coordination at the National Tax Service; Inspector General at the Jungbu Regional Tax Office; director of the International Transaction Investigation Bureau at the Seoul Regional Tax Service; Director General for Planning and Coordination at the National Tax Service; and director of investigations at the National Tax Service.
After retiring from public office, in 2021, Kim published International Taxation. Kim is currently teaching international taxation at the Graduate School of Taxation at the University of Seoul, the Korea International Tax Association, and the training institute of the Korean Association of Certified Public Tax Accountants.
