Lee & Ko said on the 16th that it has hired Kim Seo-gon, former director general of economic security at the National Intelligence Service, as an advisor.
Advisor Kim graduated from the Department of Metallurgy at Sungkyunkwan University and earned a master's degree from the same university's Graduate School of Governance. Kim worked at the National Intelligence Service for 30 years, serving as head of the Industrial Secrets Protection Center, Director in the defense sector, and director general of economic security.
Advisor Kim took part in formulating national technology protection policy, including the enactment and revision of the Act on Prevention of Leakage and Protection of Industrial Technology and the Defense Industry Technology Protection Act. Kim also has experience providing industrial security consulting and personal information protection advice to corporations and research institutes holding national core technologies and defense contractors, as well as supporting overseas exports of defense materials.
Advisor Kim will be affiliated with Lee & Ko's corporate advisory group and will support various advisory tasks. Lee & Ko expects that, through the addition of Advisor Kim, tailored services for security and compliance risks related to national core technologies and defense technologies, responses to hacking, and more will strengthen the capabilities of Lee & Ko's corporate advisory group.
