Comedian Lee Jin-ho, 39, was sent to prosecutors on suspicion of drunk driving.
The Yangpyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province said on the 15th that it had referred Lee Jin-ho, who is accused of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving), to the Yeoju Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office.
According to police, Lee Jin-ho is suspected of having driven 100 kilometers from Incheon to Yangseo-myeon, Yangpyeong County, where he resides, in the early morning of Sept. 24 after drinking.
At the time he was caught by police, his blood alcohol concentration measured 0.11%, which warrants license revocation. However, Lee Jin-ho asked police for a blood test. In response, police collected Lee Jin-ho's blood and requested an analysis from the National Forensic Service. The National Forensic Service notified police that his blood alcohol concentration was 0.12%. His blood alcohol concentration had actually risen compared with when he was caught.
Lee Jin-ho also came under investigation for drunk driving while he was under investigation last year on illegal gambling allegations. He said on his social media (SNS) last year that he had engaged in illegal gambling and borrowed money from people around him in the process.
Meanwhile, Lee Jin-ho debuted in 2005 as a comedian specially recruited by SBS. Since then, he has appeared on various entertainment programs, becoming known to the public.
