Incheon City said on the 14th that it has halted recruitment for the "Incheon youth global medical volunteer group," which had been scheduled to be dispatched to Cambodia.
Incheon City had been recruiting participants for the medical volunteer group from the 29th of 4th to the 22nd of this month. The target applicants were those who live in Incheon City and are enrolled in, or on leave from, universities located in Incheon City.
They were to provide basic oral hygiene education to Cambodian residents and carry out school environment beautification work in Cambodia. The planned volunteer period was 4 nights and 6 days from Dec. 15 to Dec. 20.
Incheon City made this decision in view of the recent crimes in Cambodia involving kidnapping and confinement targeting Koreans.
