Police launched a search after a threatening email said an explosive device had been installed at Sogang University.
According to police, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul received a report from the university around 12 p.m. on the 13th that it had received an email stating, "We installed a bomb combining hydrogen peroxide and acetone" at Sogang University. This was reported to be similar to the threatening emails sent to Korea University and Yonsei University on the 2nd.
Police and fire authorities searched the main building and other on- and off-campus areas for about two hours but found no explosives. They also judged the risk to be low, so no separate student evacuation was carried out.
The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency plans to take over the case and investigate the details, including tracking the sender of the threatening email.
