The number of government IT systems halted by the fire at the National Information Resources Service's Daejeon headquarters was confirmed to be 709, not 647 as initially identified.
Yoon Ho-jung, head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, said at a headquarters meeting on the 9th that "with the restoration of the internal management system 'NTOPS,' we were able to (accurately) confirm the total number of affected systems," adding, "As of 6 a.m. on the 9th, 193 out of a total of 709 systems have been restored."
During the holiday period, 54 systems, including the On-nara document system and the 1365 Donation Portal, were restarted. The overall recovery rate for affected systems is 27.2%.
Deputy Minister Yoon said, "Dust removal at Computer Room 8 has been completed, so the computer room can resume operations starting on the 11th," and added, "For Computer Rooms 7 and 7-1, we first reviewed transfer to the Daegu center, but if swift restoration is possible by utilizing space within the Daejeon center, we will also push for restoration at the Daejeon center."
Before the meeting, Deputy Minister Yoon and other attendees briefly stood at their seats and observed a moment of silence to pay respects to a Ministry of the Interior and Safety employee who died while responding to the network outage.
