The professional baseball team Samsung Lions beat the NC Dinos to advance to the semifinals playoff (semifinals PO). Samsung is set to play a best-of-five semifinals PO against the regular-season No. 3 SSG Landers starting on the 9th.
On the 7th at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, Samsung beat NC 3-0 in Game 2 of the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO postseason wild-card (WC) series.
On the day, Samsung scored two runs in the bottom of the first on back-to-back bases-loaded walks and protected the lead behind starter Won Tae-in (six innings, four hits, no runs) and a strong bullpen.
Finishing the regular season in fourth and entering the WC with "one win" in hand, Samsung dropped Game 1 to fifth-place NC (1-4) but won Game 2 to clinch a ticket to the semifinals PO.
Manager Park Jin-man, who led Samsung to the Korea Series (KS) stage last year, cleared the first hurdle of this year's fall stage.
By contrast, NC manager Lee Ho-jun, who took the helm this year, ripped off a nine-game winning streak at the end of the regular season to grab the last postseason berth and also won WC Game 1, exited this fall stage with a loss in Game 2.
