Actor Kim Ju-young, who delivered powerful performances in historical dramas such as "Tears of the Dragon" and "Jeong Do-jeon," died on the 30th. He was 73.
According to the bereaved family on the 1st, the deceased had recently been receiving intensive care in an ICU for pneumonia symptoms and died at about 3:30 p.m. on the 30th.
Kim Ju-young, who graduated from the Department of Theater and Film at Chung-Ang University, began his acting career in 1974 as part of the sixth class of MBC open recruitment for actors. He was later accepted through the 15th open recruitment at Tongyang Broadcasting Company (TBC).
He became known to viewers through "Chief Inspector," and went on to appear in numerous historical dramas, including the "500 Years of the Joseon Dynasty" series, "Tears of the Dragon," "The King and the Queen," "Taejo Wang Geon," "Empress Myeongseong," "Age of Warriors," "Sea God," "Empress Cheonchu," and "Jeong Do-jeon," delivering memorable performances.
He wrapped up his television appearances with the role of Jo Min-su in the 2014 KBS epic drama "Jeong Do-jeon," and was later known to have lived as a shaman.
The deceased's mourning altar has been set up in Room 8 of the funeral hall at Chung-Ang University Hospital, and the funeral is on the 2nd. The burial site is Incheon Family Park.
